Creating social media a real struggle for you? We’ve all been there. On those days where you just can’t think of any content to post, having content buckets done for content can be a huge help! Making use of content buckets, or content pillars as it’s also known helps creators and bloggers stay organized, by batch creating their content. This allows you to be consistent, yet still, create high-quality content.

What are content buckets?

Content buckets are essentially themes or topics used to guide your social strategy and helps you create consistent content for your social media platforms.

Why do I need to implement content buckets?

Content buckets are a great way to showcase different categories of content. with your audience. Each content bucket (content category) allows you to cover a variety of topics. This leads to you having a more consistent and cohesive social marketing strategy. This allows you to also be more focused on creating certain content topics for batch creating.

How do I start with creating content buckets?

Before creating any content for your brand, it’s important to keep your audience in mind. Understanding your audience is a vital part of any content strategy. If you’re unsure, don’t be afraid to ask your audience what their struggles are in your specific niche. This will give you a clear indication as to how you can serve your audience.

Most important, look at your analytics to see what kind of content performs well. Analytics is such an important tool that always gets overlooked. If you want to know what works, your analytics is a gold mine.

Now for the fun part, let’s get started on creating content buckets! For the best results, it’s advised to plan out your content in advance, I usually aim for at least one month in advance Which might not be doable for you, so starting off with a week or two is a great way to get you started. Last thing you want to do is leave your content planning till the last minute…

I don’t know about you but, I just don’t do well under pressure.

Here’s a process to get your content planning started:

👉 Write down all the important dates, like upcoming holidays or promotional content… These important events should always go on your calendar first to ensure you don’t miss anything.

👉 Plugging in content, this can be your blog posts or Youtube videos. As these require a lot more attention and time to create.

👉 Make use of short-form content, this will be your daily Instagram or Pinterest posts. Unlike long-form content, like blog posts and youtube videos, these shorter form content takes less time to create.

Batch creating your content buckets (ie content pillars) is a sure way to ensure you always have content available to post. Let your creativity run wild and enjoy it! Content creation is meant to be fun.

All of these are fantastic tools to make money, Candice! I use many of them, but have always wanted to try BlogtoPin, I’m so intrigued by it, I always create my own pins in Canva but that would be so helpful if it did it for me!
