Why do you need a landing page?

Landing pages are standing web pages that are specifically created for marketing or advertising campaign. A visitor will land after clicking a link either shared on email or social media pages. These landing pages are perfect to share specific opt in’s like free content or sharing your latest course or product.

Does Squarespace offer free landing pages?

Squarespace does come with a subscription cost. However, all of the themes or templates are completely free. You can also create a landing page with Squarespace content blocks. This allows you lots of flexibility to create custom landing pages to suit your branding.

How do I create a landing page in Squarespace?

Creating a landing page in Squarespace has never been easier! As with all pages on Squarespace, the sky is the limit! Squarespace makes it so easy with a variety of content blocks you can add.

Step One: Create a Page

First things first you need a page right. To do this you’ll go to pages and under your not link section click on the + and then you can either use one of the Squarespace page layouts which are custom pages for you to use or you can create a blank page. Having these pages and you’re not a link section just means that they won’t display on your main menu.

Step Two: Customize Your Landing Page

So this is fun but you get to customise your learning page to suit what the purpose of the page is for example if your landing page is basically an Instagram ending page where you want to use this page in your Instagram link in bio you’ll share your latest blog posts and buttons of things you would want to share with your audience that’s important.

You can add tons of content blocks to customise your landing page to share all the information about your product. Don’t forget to add a way for your audience to signup to your mailing list.

Step Three: Don’t forget settings

Don’t forget to update your page settings!

From here you can change the page title, add a navigation link, Customize the source image, update the SEO, add a custom social image and even add a password. Adding passwords are great for creating a library where your audience needs a password to view. This is something I use when creating my freebie library.

Step Four: Remove header and footer

This step is totally optional. If you want to create fewer distractions and allow your message to be the main focus of your landing page. Removing the header and footer of the page will allow just that.

Navigate to custom CCS and add the below code snippet.

#collectionid

{ header, footer { display: none !important;}

Replace
#collectionid

Using the Squarespace ID finder chrome extension which you can download from the Google Chrome store.
