7 Ways to Find Your Blogging Voice

How To Create Your Own Unique Blogging Voice

how to find your blogging voice

If you’re starting a blog, or if you’ve been blogging for awhile but feel like you’re just not quite sure how to find your voice, don’t worry. We’ve all been there. In this post we share 7 ways to find your blogging voice if you’re feeling stuck.

how to find your blogging voice

What is a “Blogging Voice?”

A blogging voice is the personality and style that a blogger uses in their writing. It is what makes their writing unique and sets them apart from the crowd. It is important to find your voice for your blog, as it will help you stand out from the millions of other bloggers out there. Your voice should be consistent in both your grammar and writing style. The best way to find your blogging voice is to experiment with different voices until you find one that fits you and your writing process. You can also get help from a mastermind group or a writing coach.

How do I Find My Blogging Voice?

Your unique blogging voice is the persona you project through your blog posts. It’s the creativity you put into each post, and how you break the rules to make your blog stand out. Many bloggers find their own voice by copying others at first, but eventually, they find their own style that helps them stand out from the rest. If you’re having trouble finding your blogging voice, there are some exercises that can help you find it. Once you find your voice, stick with it and don’t let anyone else change the way you sound.

Why Every Blogger Needs to Find Their Blogging/ Writing Voice

One of the best ways to help you find your blogging voice is to read your writing out loud. This will help you to hear how your voice sounds and if it sounds like it belongs on a blog. If you’ve just started blogging, you may not have developed a unique voice yet. That’s okay! You can create a style guide to help you find your voice. To do this, read a blog post that you really like and try to imitate the tone and style of the writer. As you’re creating your own style guide, keep in mind that it’s best to sound like yourself. Your voice should be authentic and reflect who you are as a person.

1. Who are Your Writing For?

Who are you writing for? This is an important question to ask yourself every time you sit down to write. Your audience will determine the voice you use, the topics you write about, and how you present your information. It’s quite possible that you won’t need to create a strong voice or worry about your audience every time you read or tell a story, but being aware of what is special about your writing will help you make choices that allow your voice to shine through. Don’t be afraid to write about things that don’t interest you – chances are, your audience probably won’t either. Instead, focus on creating content that is true to your voice and unique to your experience.

2. Finding Your Niche – Write About Things You Know

Often, the best way to find your niche is to write about things you know. This allows you to be more approachable and conversational in your writing, rather than having to rely on rules of grammar or new content. However, don’t be afraid to take risks – a good storyteller can make anything interesting! If you’re not sure what would describe you as a writer, ask yourself what you admire in others’ work. Do you like quirky characters or clever dialogue? Do you prefer stories that are heart-warming or suspenseful? Answering these questions can help point you in the right direction.

3. Write Like You Speak

If you want your writing to be more relatable, write like you speak! Take away the rules of writing that you were taught in school and just write how you would normally speak to someone. This will create a more personal connection with your readers and make your writing more accessible. People probably won’t even notice the little errors or nuances in your writing – every time I read something written like this one, it sounds like the person’s voice belongs. It’s a great marketing strategy to use if you want to connect with your audience on a deeper level.

4. Be Authentic and Relatable

If you want to be a good writer, it’s important to be authentic and relatable. This means finding your own unique voice and writing from it each time you sit down to write. It can be easy to get caught up in writing roles – especially if you’re able to write well in multiple styles – but it’s always best to stay true to yourself. This is what will make your writing stand out and resonate with readers.

So if you’re not sure what your writing voice is, take some time to explore different styles and topics until you find something that feels specific and uniquely you. And don’t forget that SEO always matters, so make sure your posts are well-optimized and targeted to your audience.

5. Read Your Content Out Loud

As a blogger, you’re always writing. But have you ever stopped to think about how your words sound when you read them out loud? Reading your content out loud can help you catch errors and get a feel for the tone of your writing. It’s especially helpful to do this with your first draft before you start editing. Every time I read my work out loud, I catch something new that I want to change. So next time you’re writing, try reading your work out loud and see what changes you need to make.

6. Don’t be Scared to be Controversial

Finding your own voice as a new blogger, you shouldn’t be scared to tackle controversial topics. This will not only help you find your voice, but it will also attract readers who are looking for an interesting and thought-provoking read. The truth is you’re probably not going to please everyone. But sharing your own point of voice is what your readers would want to hear, it also conversationally connects with your audience.

Be Passionate: When you’re passionate about something, it shows in your writing. If you’re not passionate about the topic you’re blogging about, it will be difficult to find your voice. Find something that you’re passionate about and let that passion shine through in your writing.

Be Yourself: One of the best ways to find your voice as a new blogger is to simply be yourself. Write like you talk, and don’t try to imitate other bloggers. Be authentic and share your own experiences and perspectives.

Be Consistent: Another important tip is to be consistent with your voice. Once you find a style and tone that feels natural to you, stick with it. This will help your readers get to know and appreciate your unique voice.

By following these tips, you’ll be well on your way to finding your voice as a new blogger. Just relax, be yourself, and let your personality shine through in your writing.

7. Level up Your Skills with Books and Courses

One way to improve your blogging voice is to make sure that your skills are up to par. This can be accomplished by reading books and taking courses related to blogging. By reading books, you can learn new techniques and strategies. Courses can also be helpful, as they can provide you with a structure for learning. There are also a number of online resources that can be helpful, including blogs, forums, and video tutorials. Finally, it can be helpful to talk to other bloggers to see how they found their voice.

In summary, having your own unique blogging voice is essential to being a successful blogger. It allows you to stand out from the crowd and be a credible source for your readers. Practice, practice, practice the more you write blog posts the better you’ll develop your own style. Remember there are no writing rules, writes posts with your own unique twist. I hope you found these tips helpful in finding your blogging voice.
