WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms. It’s free and user-friendly. However, if you’re wanting to create custom pages, that default WordPress page editor doesn’t include many customization options. This is where page builders can help you with great custom pages. To help you decide which platform to use here are The Best Free WordPress Page Builders for Bloggers.

Why you might need a page builder

Page builders make it possible to create a blog or website without need to know ‘code’ or spend lots of money to hire a developer. With page builders, you can add some interesting customization to an existing site or create a new site from scratch and make it look effortless.

If you haven’t used page builders for your blog, these options will help guide you to which page builder is best for your needs.

What to look for in a WordPress page builder

When choosing a page builder you want to use for your website, you need to consider a few things to determine if the builder is worth your while.

Best Free WordPress Page Builders

Elementor

The Elementor page builder is probably one of the most used and popular page builders. It’s one of the best free options in terms of visual page builders. Elementor does offer a pro version, the free version doesn’t disappoint.

Elementor allows you to create a page from scratch or choose from their pre-build page templates. Pix & Hue offers beautiful Elementor WordPress theme templates that are easily customizable.

Elementor also has more than 80 design elements and widgets to easily optimize your page for getting new leads from your website and custom sales pages. With Elementor Pro, you do get access to so much more like a visual form builder, which allows you to create custom forms with the visual page builder interface. You can also create your own contact forms or email opt-ins that connect with email platforms like MailChimp.

Elementor is one of the most popular page builders because off how easy it is to use, and the drag and drop functionality. The pro plan starts off at $49.

Visual Composer

Visual ComposerI’ve tried a few times this builder is great for complete beginners, just starting out with page builders. You can easily edit and customize by clicking on any widget you want to change. This allows you to customize any area of your website, like the menu section, your logos, sidebars and much more. Visual Composer connects with many other popular plugins, like WooCommerce and Yoast SEO.

Visual Composer is available on a free plan with certain limitations, you can upgrade for $64.

Beaver Builder

Beaver Builderis a SUPER user-friendly visual editor  that allows users to see a real-time preview as they are designing. It’s one of the best landing page plugins – that allows users to drag and drop their content blocks to create a landing page.

Beaver offers 30 professionally designed templates that allows you to edit the sample text and content. Beaver does offer a free plan to get you started. Pro plan start is at $99.

Gutenberg

Gutenberg is the latest default WordPress editor and it uses block editing to arrange your post elements. You can easily add your custom content styles by dragging and dropping elements on the page.

It does have a number of limitations though, like being able to adjust the width or height of your blocks.

Gutenberg is great for a more content layout like creating your blog posts, but for page, design is better left to the other builders mentioned in this post. It’s a backend editor,  what this means is that it doesn’t allow you to style visually as you create your content. You will need to constantly click on PREVIEW.

WordPress has definite advantages, I would suggest checking out some videos before you decide to make the switch. I did this many years ago and never looked back.

Oh definitely! You can truly customise this and layer elements better which WordPress doesn’t allow you to do on their native platform.
