How to use Pretty Link Plugin
The plugin itself it’s user-friendly and easy to use. You want to ensure that you first install the plugin. Search for Pretty Links on your Plugins page. Once installed go to Pretty Links – it should display on the left menu – Add New.
- Change the Redirection to 301 (Permanent)
- Enter your target URL, aka the link you want to disguise
- Choose your Pretty Link slug so it looks like yourdomain.com/prettylink
- Give it a custom title
- Click on Create to confirm!
Just like that, you created your custom link ready to be shared with the world! The Pretty Link free version does give you limited options, I find this to work just fine to serve what I need for my blog.
You can edit these links you created at any time if need be. Pretty Link also provides you with the click-through number of each link you created. If you click on the number of clicks displayed on the Pretty Links home screen you will be provided with a bit more detail like what time those readers clicked on your link.
