Creating branded graphics has been a passion of mine of late. What you guys might not realise is that it’s much easier then you think. You don’t have to be a graphic designed to learn How To Create Pin Worthy Blog Graphics, all you need is a graphic design platform like Canva. Today I will be showing you how you can do this for your blog as well without any design background.
Okay, you guys have been notifying that I have been sharing quite a bit of content around content creation, tools and apps. Reason being, I subscribed to a pro version of Canva and honestly, I don’t know why I haven’t before.
Yes, you can create pretty cool graphics with the free version of Canva, by no means will you need to upgrade as I did.
Choose Your Graphic Design Platform
Firstly, you need to signup for Canva, if you have not been you can also try a free month of the pro version on Canva! Believe me, it will be the best decision you make! If you not a fan of Canva you can use similar sites like Crello, Picmonkey or Over. All of these sites are FREE!
Make sure you use the suggested Pinterest image size, Pinterest image size of 735 by 1102 pixels is considered ideal. If you are using Canva, they make it easier so just choose and Pinterest suggested image.
Look At Etsy For More Options
I use a selection of my own Pinterest creations or you can purchase Canva templates from Etsy, there are so many amazing ones to choose from the possibilities are endless. Canva also has a wide variation of premade templates you can use. Simply move around the text and upload your image. I would suggest making more than one Pinterest pin per a post, this way you maximise your content.
Use Stock Photos
I have been using more stock photos on my website and Instagram feed of late. Honestly, not sure why I haven’t sooner. There are so many amazing pros of why you should be using stock photos if you don’t have the time and money to invest in quality tools and gadgets but want to make sure your website and graphics are professional. There are so many great options out there which I will touch on with a later post.
Swap out your images, to create fresh pins, these pins you can share straight on Pinterest or on your website in case your readers want to share your content. Make sure you have Rich Pins enabled. If you want to know more about how to make sure your WordPress website is Pinterest ready for rich pins let me know in the comments below.
Make It your own
Make sure that you create the pins to match your brand fonts and colours. Canva Pro does allow you to create a brand kit. This is extremely useful when you want easy access to your website logo, fonts and colours. I use this all the time! Canva Pro also allows you to upload any font, instead of only using the free font options. Make sure your pins are cohesive as you would be with your Instagram Feed. Remember that Pinterest is a visual platform!
Once you are happy with your designs you are good as ready to go. To recap the below are my main points to note.
- Use professional-looking images
- Use a good design platform my suggestion is Canva
- Make it your own! Use your brand fonts and colours.
- Create more than one pin design to allow for a variety.
- Make sure you have a Pinterest Business Profile, you get access to analytics this is great for when creating several pins for the same post you can see what design people like the most.
I hope you guys found that tips helpful on how you can create pin worthy blog graphics for your blog.
